Australian Ultra Distance Walking Records

In 2001, the Australian Centurions and Racewalking Australia jointly decided to recognise the following categories as 'Australian Best on Record'.

50 Miles, 100 Km, 12 Hours, 100 Miles and 24 Hours.

In 2007, this list was extended to include the following additional categories:

50km (Women), 6 Hours, 48 Hours, 200 Km, 500 Km and 6 Days.

Until February 2019, only Track performances were eligible for submissions as records. Road and/or solo performances were ineligible.

From February 2019, the Centurions AGM agreed to the following change in rules:

Only track based performances will be considered for all records up to and including 24 Hours and 100 Miles (ie 6H, 12H, 24H, 50M, 100M, 100km).
Both track and road based performances will be considered for all multi-day distance and time related records (ie 200km, 500km, 2 Day, 6 Day).
Both Track and Road performances in excess of 24 Hours are to be subject to Committee review.

This reflects the fact that multi-day opportunities are few and far between and are often road based.

Residential Records are awarded to the best overall performances done in Australia by Australian Citizens. Open or All-Comers Records are awarded to the best overall performances done in Australia, regardless of citizenship.

As of 18 October 2024, the list reads as follows:
