The Australian Centurion Walkers Inc. has no concept of Life Membership. Rather, any walker who walks 100 miles within 24 Hours in Australia in ratified competition automatically becomes a member for life.

From time to time, the Australian Centurions may also officially recognise other people (non-members) who have freely given of their time and expertise over an extended period of time. This is done via the Australian Centurions Merit Award, which was created in 2021.

Initially, 5 people were recognised with Merit Awards: Our four founders (all now deceased) along with Lois Erickson, our long standing treasurer and supporter, who died in August 2020.
